Q: Is PM Training being used by companies in the engineering and construction management organizations?
A: "The short answer is….yes, absolutely! Engineering and Construction are two big industries that invest in PM Training. Several of PM College's largest clients are in the engineering industry. PM College recently developed a Webinar for one of our clients titled “An Engineers Perspective on Project Management”. The Webinar was co-developed and presented by PM College’s Faculty Member, Hugh Cameron, BSEE, MBA, PMP. The announcement asked the question: “I am an engineer; do I need to know any of this stuff? And if so, what should I know?” More than 700 engineers from around the globe attended the 60 minute webinar! None of us were prepared for that turnout from one company. That sure gives an indication on the interest from engineers on project management and how it fits in their world.
Hugh wrote an interesting blog on his thoughts on the converging control chart – from his engineers’ perspective, take a look.
Further, PMI’s Construction Industry’s Community of Practice promotes PDU-earning professional development education, training, skills and opportunities to successfully identify, plan, manage, and participate in construction projects involving buildings and facilities in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors of the worldwide economy.
